The easiest way to ensure that you stay hydrated is by putting a pitcher that contains the amount you’re shooting for front and center. This will help remind you to drink up throughout the day!

Love Thanksgiving leftovers? I know most of us will probably be saying YES!

While delicious, did you know there’s a connection between histamine and leftovers? Yes, really! 😮

Now, keep in mind that histamine is naturally occurring and for many people, there isn’t anything to worry about here. However, when we produce too much histamine it can pose a problem for some lippy ladies with mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) or histamine intolerance.

Many women with Lipedema also have MCAS or a histamine intolerance - including me! In fact, I was diagnosed with MCAS before I knew I had lipedema.

So, what’s the connection here, friends?

Histamine grows as food ages. This means that the longer your leftovers sit in the fridge, the more likely they will be to have higher levels of histamine.

💜 So, if you’re a lady with MCAS - this might be something to consider as we approach the holidays. I know that I will plan on being more mindful about the amount of leftovers I consume and how quickly I plan to do so. Another option is to freeze leftovers, pull them as you use them. This will lower the histamine accumulation.
