As Lippy Ladies, we know that managing inflammation is a year-round priority, and just because the holidays are here doesn’t mean we can simply “hit pause” on the habits that help us feel our best.

So does that mean there’s no room for holiday fun?

Of course not!! 🦃 Holidays are meant to be enjoyed.

The key is learning to work nourishing, anti-inflammatory foods into the mix so your body stays supported while you enjoy your favorites mindfully.

Think of it like this 👇
🌈 Add color to your plate (roasted veggies, greens, berries)
🍗 Anchor meals with protein, so blood sugar stays stable
🚶‍♀️ Keep up gentle movement (even short walks help!)
💕 Choose the treats that truly feel worth it… then savor them guilt-free

You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to swear off everything festive. You just need a balance that feels good.

This is how we enjoy the season and stay in our comfort zone, emotionally, physically, and inflammation-wise. 💜

🌿 Rosemary is one of my favorite herbs to use in the kitchen, and when the holidays roll around, I find myself reaching for it even more! If you’re new to cooking with fresh herbs, not to worry - it’s super simple! Here are 9 ways to use rosemary in your kitchen this year:⁣
🥕 Roasted Veggies⁣
Toss cubed sweet potatoes, butternut squash, or carrots with olive oil, garlic powder, and chopped fresh rosemary before roasting. Bonus: Rosemary’s antioxidants (like carnosic acid) protect the oils from oxidation during cooking.⁣
🌿 Infused Olive Oil⁣
Warm olive oil gently with fresh rosemary sprigs for 5–10 minutes, then strain and store. Use as a finishing oil for salads, roasted veggies, or fish. Adds flavor and increases polyphenol diversity in the diet (good for gut health).⁣
🍗 Protein Seasoning⁣
Rub dried rosemary, lemon zest, salt, and pepper on chicken, salmon, or pork tenderloin before grilling or baking. Combine with other anti-inflammatory herbs (thyme, sage, oregano) for a flavorful blend.⁣
🥣 Soups & Stews⁣
Add a sprig of rosemary to simmering bean soups, lentil stews, or bone broth. Remove before serving for a subtle, aromatic flavor.⁣
🫖 Rosemary “Tea”⁣
Steep fresh rosemary sprigs in hot water for 5 minutes. Drink as a digestive aid, rosemary is traditionally used to support bile flow and fat digestion.⁣
🎄Holiday Dishes⁣
Sprinkle chopped rosemary over roasted potatoes or green beans for a festive touch. Use it to season turkey or stuffing (great way to bring anti-inflammatory benefits to family meals).⁣
🫘 Flavoring Legumes⁣
Add rosemary to cooking water when making chickpeas, kidney beans, or lentils. This enhances flavor naturally and may make legumes more digestible.⁣
🌿 Homemade Spice Mix⁣
Blend dried rosemary with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Keep in a jar for a quick seasoning option on vegetables, tofu, or meats.⁣
🧑‍🍳 Balsamic Rosemary Reduction⁣
Simmer balsamic vinegar with rosemary until slightly thickened. Drizzle over roasted vegetables, chicken, or even strawberries for a sweet-savory finish⁣

Do you have a “bare minimum” plan in place to help you continue feeling your best this holiday season? If not, stop what you’re doing and listen up! 📣

I know the holiday season is hectic, busy, and not always the easiest to manage as a Lippy Lady. 👀

But… when we let it totally overwhelm us and let go of all our healthy habits, we’re in for some serious inflammation, GI issues, and pain. No one wants to deal with that on Christmas morning!! 🎄

So, what’s the alternative? A bare minimum, daily non-negotiable plan to help you continue feeling your best and actually enjoying the holiday fun!

Here’s what I recommend -
💦 Hydration - this is NOT optional! Make sure you’re drinking enough fluids and electrolytes to stay in balance.
🍳 Prioritize Protein - this protects lean muscle, increases satiety, balances blood sugar, and decreases cravings for sugary treats.
🚶‍♀️ Incorporate Movement - you don’t have to run a marathon, just get moving! Whatever you enjoy and can sustain is the BEST choice for you!
As we barrel forward into the busiest time of the year, please remember…
It doesn’t have to be all or nothing!
By simply choosing to prioritize these 3 things every day, you’ll be SO much better off in January! Not to mention, you’ll keep feeling great all through the season! 🕎🎄❄️

Ahhh January resolutions… Back in the day, I was the girl WHO always made one related to weight loss. ⁣

But you know what else I did? Completely threw in the towel from Halloween to New Year’s. ⁣

This can be a powerful strategy during the busy holiday season, a time when we’re often putting ourselves last and waiting on those resolutions. Here’s what I recommend you focus on this month for better health… ⬇⁣

🚶‍♀️Move with joy - Go for a crisp fall walk, dance in your kitchen, or try gentle strength work. Focus on consistency, not intensity.⁣
😌 Create calm moments - Schedule 10 minutes a day for stillness. Use it so journal, stretch, or sip tea mindfully.⁣
🥗Prep nourishing meals - Batch cook cozy, anti-inflammatory dishes (like chili, soups, and sheet-pan meals) to make balanced eating easy.⁣
🏆Celebrate maintenance as a win - If you hold steady through the holidays, that’s major success! Your body thrives on balance, not burnout.⁣
💦 Stay hydrated (yes, even when it’s cold!) - Warm lemon water, herbal tea, or infused water count. Your lymphatic system will thank you.⁣
